Hearts & Minds Challenge

What's On 4 Me is delighted to support the Hearts and Minds Challenge by promoting their Challenges and Events across the whole of the UK.

Hearts And Minds Challenge was set up to raise funds and provide services to help children born with congenital heart defects and to support families living with autism.

For 2011, The Hearts and Minds Challenge Team are holding charity fundraising events in aid of Irish Autism Action, The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (Cardiology Department) and Families Connected - organisations which carry out wonderful work to benefit sick and challenged children throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In 2010, Hearts and Minds donated over £25,000 to Charities, including Christie's Hospital, Manchester.  With your help, they can do this again in 2011.  Please see the list of this year's Challenges and JOIN IN to help raise money for such a worthy cause!!

The Hearts & Minds Challenge 2011 events include:

The National Garden Scheme (NGS)

What's On 4 Me is delighted to support the National Garden Scheme (NGS) and we promote each of their gardens across the UK.

NGS is a registered charity and every year NGS gardens across England and Wales welcome over half a million visitors. Most gardens which open for the NGS are privately owned and open just a few times each year. Some gardens open as part of a group with the whole community involved.

Since 1927, NGS has raised almost £42 million to support charities; £25 million in the last 10 years.

The NGS is Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest single donor, donating over £11.6 million and funding 130 Macmillan services, such as nursing posts, financial advice, and counselling, helping thousands of people affected by cancer. Support to Marie Curie Cancer Care funds the Marie Curie Nursing Service, providing free high quality nursing care giving people with terminal illness the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.

The NGS donations allow Crossroads to support working carers. In 2008 the NGS assisted Help the Hospices with funding towards training for nurses and hospice staff, so they can give the best possible care. The NGS keeps up its tradition of funding nursing care through The Queen’s Nursing Institute. Our donation to The Royal Fund for Gardeners’ Children supports orphaned and needy horticulturist’s children. With the NGS support, Perennial – Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society, helps people from the gardening trades who are in need. The NGS donation to The National Trust helps to train the heritage gardeners of the future.

All of this is made possible by you, visiting NGS gardens.  See the listings for your nearest garden and help support the NGS!
