Welcome to our National What's On 4 Me 2011 Awards - The Winners have been announced!!
"I'm delighted to be part of the 1st Annual What's On 4 Me awards. Activities for adults are so important for our community’s health and well-being, especially for younger generations to see great role-models in their community. I had great role models and I joined a community activity group and that has shaped my life immensely!
Local activity groups are more important than ever these days as more people are moving around. Moving into a new area can be daunting and isolating. Local activity groups help people make friends, make people feel part of their community, build strong support networks and give people a sense of belonging. Joining these local groups builds your confidence and makes life more enjoyable and it certainly did for me!
So it's brilliant how the What's On 4 Me Awards reward the dedicated people and clubs that provide amazing activities to get communities together, learning and active every day of the week. Well done and good luck to all nominees." James DeGale
